The mythology shelf in full

13 titles in the lobby · Olympian gods, Norse realms and Trojan heroes

Olympus, Troy, Asgard and Atlantis

Myth is a broad label, so the shelf is easier to browse in four groups. The grouping is ours, made from the titles; Springbok's lobby does not sort its games this way.

  • Olympus and the Greek gods

Olympus Thunderhold, Fortunate Zeus, Fortunes of Olympus, Hades' Flames of Fortune and Legend of Helios. Ancient Gods and Gods of Nature join them on their names, though neither title names a pantheon.

  • The Trojan War

Achilles and Achilles Deluxe, named for the Greek hero of the siege of Troy.

  • Norse realms

Asgard, Asgard Deluxe and Nine Realms, all named after the worlds of Norse myth.

  • Atlantis

Masks Of Atlantis, the lost city of legend, which also sits on the ocean shelf.

Egypt's gods have a shelf of their own: Anubis and Horus turn up in Springbok's preview of Shadow Gods on the Egyptian shelf.

Olympus Thunderhold, the shelf's headliner

Olympus Thunderhold carries the shelf's only official art and its fullest spec sheet. The lobby dates its release to 13 May 2026, and when we read the lobby it sat in three tabs at once: New Games, Popular and 2X Double Comps.

It does not use paylines. The tile reads "6 reels x 5 rows, pays anywhere (8+ matching symbols)", so matching symbols pay wherever they land, and winning symbols clear away for cascading wins. The free games work like this: 10 free games on 4+ Zeus scatters, +5 on 3+ during the feature. Multiplier symbols are the game's big lever, and the tile is specific about where they appear: "Multiplier symbols 2x–100x, added together, in free games only".

Springbok's review gives a return to player of 95%, and Springbok states the ceiling as "Top award 2,500x the total bet". Read that as the upper limit of the paytable, not a target.

Medium or high volatility?

Springbok's own sources disagree. The lobby tile says medium, and so do Springbok's review and its Game of the Month article; a Springbok article about high rollers calls it high. We follow the lobby tile and flag the other view rather than hide it.

Two further notes. Play on it earned double comp points on our read date because it sat in the 2X Double Comps tab, but that tab rotates: when we read the lobby on 9 October 2026, its 2X Double Comps tab listed Olympus Thunderhold, Buffalo Mania Deluxe and Triple Tigers Lobby, checked 9 October 2026. And a Springbok article names it a recent Game of the Month; that month's coupons have since expired, so none is printed here.

Achilles and the older Greek reels

Achilles is the veteran of the shelf, with a lobby release date of 1 April 2006, and it was in the lobby's Popular tab when we read it. Its tile is short: 20 paylines, medium volatility, the line "Local random jackpot" and a Trojan War theme.

Achilles Deluxe shares the hero, but Springbok has not published how the deluxe edition differs. The same goes for Fortunate Zeus, Fortunes of Olympus, Hades' Flames of Fortune, Legend of Helios, Ancient Gods and Gods of Nature: names on the shelf, no spec sheets behind them.

Olympus Thunderhold's return to player comes from Springbok's review; Achilles has no published figure.

The pairing shows why a theme is only a starting point. Both games are Greek, yet one is a modern cascade game with multipliers and a feature buy, and the other is a line game with a random jackpot. Choose by how a game plays, not by which god is on the reels. The method behind every line in that table is set out in how we check each spec line.

Asgard, Nine Realms and the Norse corner

The Norse titles are known by name only. Asgard is the home of the Aesir, Odin's family of gods, in the old Norse tales; Asgard Deluxe is its deluxe edition; Nine Realms takes its name from the nine worlds those tales hang on the world tree. Springbok had published no tile description, review or preview for any of the three when we read the lobby, so the shelf shows their names and nothing more.

That gap is worth respecting rather than filling with guesswork. Each game's own paytable and help screen are the place to check lines, features and stakes before you put real money in, and Springbok says logged-out visitors can open games with a practice balance first.

Bet range, Bonus Bet and the bonus cap

Olympus Thunderhold is the one myth slot where the stake needs a second look. A Springbok article lists "Bet R0.20–R160" for it, and its tile adds "Buy Feature at 100x bet; Bonus Bet adds 25%".

With a bonus running, Springbok's terms put a ceiling on every bet: R100 maximum bet on any bonus; winnings from larger bets are voided Verified, checked 9 October 2026. In practice that means:

  • The top of the game's bet range is above the cap, so keep your stake well below it while you are wagering a bonus.
  • The Bonus Bet raises what each spin costs, so count it in when you compare your stake with R100.
  • A feature buy is priced as a multiple of the bet. Springbok's terms do not say how a buy is treated under the bonus cap, so the cautious choice is to leave it alone until the bonus is cleared.

Slots count towards Springbok's wagering, so the whole shelf is open to bonus play. For deposit coupons the rule reads: 30x (deposit + bonus) for deposit bonus coupons unless otherwise stated; each deposit bonus must be fully wagered before a withdrawal Verified, checked 9 October 2026.

A myth slot is a story told in pictures, not a plan. Set a budget before you open the shelf, and if play stops being fun, the responsible gambling page has the NRGP's free helpline and Springbok's own limits.

Questions about Springbok's mythology slots

How many mythology slots does Springbok have?

13 titles from the lobby's Slots tab sit on this shelf, from the list read on 9 October 2026. Masks Of Atlantis is one of them and also appears on the ocean shelf.

Is Olympus Thunderhold medium or high volatility?

The lobby tile says medium, as do Springbok's review and its Game of the Month article. One Springbok article about high rollers calls it high, so Springbok's sources are not unanimous.

What is the RTP of Olympus Thunderhold?

Springbok's review gives 95%. That is a long-run average over a vast number of spins, not a forecast for one session.

Does Springbok have Norse mythology slots?

Yes: Asgard, Asgard Deluxe and Nine Realms. Springbok has not published specs for any of them.

Can you buy the free games on Olympus Thunderhold?

The lobby tile lists a Buy Feature priced as a multiple of the bet. With a bonus active, Springbok caps bets at R100 and does not say how a buy counts, so it is wiser to skip the buy until the bonus is cleared.
